Maybe, it doesn't hurt to mention it. Just don't dwell on it. Never say "I know my GPA doesn't meet your requirements but..." Just say what happened that made your GPA tank and then follow up with how you're working hard to improve because academics are important. Really milk it. It's the same as a job interview, if you're talking about a weakness you have to spin it to make it look like an opportunity for improvement. Just remember that at the end of the day these women are human beings with feelings discussing how they feel about you. Your story matters. You want them to understand that you aren't just lazy or stupid, but you do not want your GPA story to be the only thing they remember about you. That part is important.
