SAGA (specifically the Sorority & Fraternity life staff) is least helpful, unskilled, and most bureaucratic administrative body at Loyola. The liaisons of this office have a major superiority complex over the Greek organizations, likely because they were the girls "left out" within their own sororities as undergrads. They take drastic measures to ensure full compliance with some RSO (registered student organization) Handbook rules and not others. The handbook states that any event with 3 or more Greek members present is considered a "organization event", and that serving alcohol to minors is strictly prohibited at any RSO event. Take a walk down North Shore, Magnolia, or Albion any Friday night and you'll find the frat parties in minutes. But instead, the SAGA office would rather discipline the chapter officers that submit event requests 12 days prior to the event opposed to their mandated 14 (Mind you these are the people that work diligently to plan RSO Handbook-compliant events such as philanthropies and formals). Their priority system of enforcing rules is almost as bad as campus safety's. If you have to work with SAGA at all, I'm sorry for you. Just remember: you can't be rational with irrational people. Get good at brown-nosing, play by their rules, and you'll be just fine.
