Couple of things- If you’re a guy rush in the fall, I rushed last spring and got fd by rona and we all got carried over to pledging until new pledges in the fall. Also your pledge semester is going to be your lowest gpa so it looks better if you have an upward trajectory. Pledging is also shorter in the fall. For girls- the top tiers definitely take looks into account more but they’re still full of a lot of nice girls. Don’t be so scared and if you feel uncomfortable in a house that’s top or bottom tier that means it’s not a good fit for you. It doesn’t matter that your suit mates all want asa and sk, just do your thing and you’ll meet dope ass people As for the tier things it definitely plays a role in how hot the girl’s at your mixers are but if you’re having a good time anyway does that really matter? For rushing Frats go to ifc night check out tables of guys you think you could hang with sober. Then for rush go to no more than 3 Frats bc they’re most likely gonna ask and if you lie they’ll probably know and it just makes you look weird. Also you only have so much time. definitely show your face at all rush events and talk to as many brothers as you can without being awkward (if the Convo is dying don’t take offense and get scared just be like gotta go meet some more brothers. Everyone was in your shoes and gets that and I don’t want to talk about how nice the weather is If it’s hard for you to talk to a bunch of older guys/girls you don’t know try and take like 1-2 shots before rush events bc it’s a lot easier to talk to people. Don’t get hammered or smell like alc though bc that’s a red flag
