When I was a freshman and going through recruitment, I was so disappointed when I only got invited back to Pi Phi's preference round. I went to bid day knowing I would get Pi Phi, was miserable, and felt like there was something wrong with me for not getting into a "top tier" sorority. I didn't go on any girl dates after bid day, and wasn't aware that dropping was even an option. I felt horrible. But then I got my big (which was a miracle considering I went on NO girl dates), and she introduced me to a lot of people that I didn't even know were in Pi Phi. I started to go to sisterhood events, and found that there was a whole group of people I hadn't met during recruitment or bid day. I made friends, and found that we bonded around Pi Phi. And the next year, I got my own little, and I can't even imagine my life without her. She's my best friend. If you don't find anyone you click with now, that's normal. It can take some time to make the rounds and meet people. But I would really encourage you to stick it out. Your big is somewhere in this amazing group of women, and potentially your best friend. I know I found some of mine, even this year. And as you go through Hopkins, you'll probably find that rank means less and less as you get older and older. Please contact the VPM, or your New Member Coordinator. I guarantee they've heard your concern before and will help you find at least one person you genuinely like <3
