You have literally nothing to lose by giving it a chance. If after a few weeks you really do hate it then drop before initiation. As long as you're not initiated you can re-rush next year. However, three facts to keep in mind: 1) Since you received a bid through formal recruitment you cannot receive another bid for a full year (until next formal recruitment) so even if any of the top three have additional bids to give out this spring or fall (doubtful), you would be ineligible. That's just panhellenic rules. 2) If you rerush as a sophomore you are likely to just get a bid to one of the bottom two again, the same as this year, unless something changes significantly, like you make a lot of friends in one of the top three. It hardly ever happens, but it does once in a blue moon (for example there was a girl a few years ago who dropped a lower-tier sorority before initiation and got into phi mu the next year as a sophomore). 3) No sorority wants a member who doesn't want to be there. So, after you really give it a fair shot (as in, a few weeks, not 1/2 a day), if you still don't want to be there, then please drop. Emotions run high on bid day. Try to focus on finding girls you can bond with in your new sorority, not on what your friends are doing. Comparison is the thief of joy. Good luck, truly.
