The fact that theta is new is not really in their favor tbh. They are still new and smaller so they have to be less selective in order to get enough girls. That's why you see a kind of random mix of girls in the chapter - some fun/cute/outgoing girls, some really strange ones, and everything in between. My friends in theta have told me that it affects their sisterhood in that there are more cliques among similar girls who don't really feel sisterhood with the others. Basically Kappa is a more cohesive unit because they are well-established and can be selective in who they take as opposed to constantly recruiting and offering bids to anyone who meets the minimum requirements. That is why if you look at founding dates, sororities are basically ranked in terms of how old they are on this campus. The newer ones are usually on the bottom for many years because of this dynamic. Just trying to give some perspective.
