They told us last year during recruitment that the requirement was a 2.5 when in reality it is a 2.0. Whatever the true limit is, it isss set in stone unfortunately. If you believe your best fit is in one of the sororities that offers continuous opening bidding in the fall (this year it was theta and pi phi but that could change next year!) then by all means go through informal recruitment in the fall, but otherwise just wait until next spring and go through formal recruitment! I know plenty of girls who rushed as sophomores because they struggled academically as freshmen, it's not at all uncommon. It honestly will make you more secure in your choice of organization. As long as you show organizations that you really want to actively participate and take on leadership roles it shouldn't put you at any kind of disadvantage.
