in my opinion, it honestly just depends on yourself. ix is not an official Panhellenic sorority so with that comes less regulation (ix is now a recognized society though so they are hold more responsibility than when they weren’t). ix is traditionally known to have more hazing than the other sororitys. Because ix isn’t technically a sorority, they don’t have philanthropic events or really a public presence on campus like a regular sorority. So if you want to be in an organization that is more involved with the campus community, that could be a con for ix and a pro for other sororities, but if you aren’t looking for that experience and want something that requires somewhat less commitment (not in a bad way, just a lot of panhel sororities give points to members for participation in events) then ix might be a better choice. In regards to sisterhood, ix mostly has a really close pledge class but there are always the members that seem a little more on the outskirts. In panhel sororitys, there’s a lot more people so you won’t get to know everyone as well as ix but it also allows for a more diverse range of people for you to meet. Everything also depends a lot on the pledge class so that’s something to think about. Basically, it really depends on what you want out of the experience and neither is a bad choice. If you want to get to know people really well, not have a lot of commitments, and have a smaller circle of friends, ix would be a good choice if you get along with the older people and other members in your pc. If you want to get to know people who you maybe wouldn’t normally, be more involved, and still be able to develop meaningful relationships, a panhel sorority might be a good choice. I’d also add that just because you were recruited for ix does not necessarily mean you’ll end up in aphi or phi mu during formal recruitment
