Almost every sorority has girls from wealthy families. They just don’t flaunt it cuz it us their parents’ wealth. As for the IX— many of them are have hierarchy-based, mean mentality of NYC upper east-spiders. They think that they are an elite if they act exclusive. They think they are the only ones who went to prep schools or who lives in expensive homes and so forth. They found their niche— good for them! As for being the hottest, it is a history! Both A Phi and Phi Mu always had smart, socially active and attractive girls. Some of them were rich, but they knew that it is in a bad taste to flaunt your parents’ socioeconomic position.
