Going to events in the fall doesn't mean anything. Lots of girls in top sororitys didn't bother with those "meet the Greek" type of events but actually hung out with sisters or got to know them some other way before recruitment. Yes, you can put your name down on a list so the sorority has you listed as a PNM, but it doesn't mean anything if you make a bad impression during recruitment. If you really want to join a sorority (this goes for all sororitys, including top sororitys), make sure you put best effort into their rounds. Go in, have a genuinely good convo, make yourself look like more than some superficial girl just trying to get into a sorority with a good reputation. Let them know that you are really interested in learning about their sorority without being too pushy (i.e. "I really want to be in your sorority"). Honestly, there's no way to guarantee that you'll get into a sorority so just keep that in mind. I was dropped by one of the top sororitys the first day but was really pursued by the other one. It depends on how well you get along with the girls. TL;DR you can still get into a top sorority without going to fall events just make a good impression during rush
