IX is a special niche reserved for ppl who are social- status obsessed. Most of them are NYC girls, who pretend that they are a future /current Manhattan elite. Some of them are just a social wannabes. The truth is that they ate not the richest or the most socially connected crowd. Although they want you to think that they are, just like St. Elmo's do. Some ppl think that playing social stratification game is important. Imo, this is not the crowd that one should spend one's college years with, regardless of one's socioeconomic background. However, IX girls are fun and have closer sisterhood ties than any real sorority.
