Okay so let me just start with saying that I'm not in Greek life, but my little sister is in a sorority at FIU. Today was her birthday. Do you know how many of her sisters wished her a happy birthday, even just a text? One. One sister. All of her close non affiliated friends wished her happy birthday, and even a few other friends that she hadn't heard from in awhile. My sis ended up going out with them and her boyfriend, but she was really bummed out when none (with the exception of the one) of her sisters even gave her the time of day. Mind you, she's been a sister for over a year now and has struggled with really getting the feel of Greek life. She has beat herself up over it and feels like she's not wanted in her "sisterhood." But what happened today really says something about Greek life and how real the friendships are.
