I literally don’t care about placings so I’m gonna just share an honest thought about each show. Chi O Sigma Chi - it’s a fun show and it looks like they have fun performing it but the colors, numbers, and story are just a bit too chaotic. It’s fun but it’s not super memorable at the end of the day. It’s also getting old to just put Leif in a funny costume and write a show around him. Theta Beta - it’s a really solid show. They definitely worked hard to put together a good show and it payed off but it doesn’t have the same lightheartedness as other shows. Their vocals are probably the best out of any show which is kinda expected from this pairing and the choreo and visuals really suit the theme. It’s a good show but it takes itself a bit too seriously, but I don’t think a judge would really pick up on that unless they know OSU show culture. Tri Delta Kappa Sig - honestly this show is the perfect mix of funny and quality. The vocals are pretty solid and the choreo is really good as well. It’s a great theme and I think it’s about time Tri Delt gets credit where credit is due. This is a really good show. Kappa Sig also has incredible soloists. AOPi TKE - this show is so laid back and fun. I am honestly just super happy that this pairing got to do VR this year. The dancing vegetables are so cute. Pi Phi Sig Ep - it’s a competitive show but just like Theta Beta it also kinda feels like they were trying so hard to have quality that they didn’t really having a whole lot of fun when creating it (but I’m sure these casts had fun together). Pi Phi clearly felt a lot of pressure to match their success from last year and I think they did a great job on the choreo side but it doesn’t have the same fun energy as I think it should with such a cool theme. The lead is so solid though and they have good soloists for both guys and girls. The costumes are cool especially that skirt that the lead wears. Kappa Sigma Nu - Just not great. I think it had potential to be better but repeating the same number over and over kinda takes the energy out of both the cast and the audience. ADPi Pike - it definitely looks like they had fun putting this together and I admire that a lot. There were a lot of jokes that I thought landed pretty well and they clearly didn’t really try too hard on the vocals or choreo side so it’s not like I’m gonna go in on them for that. Alpha Chi Farmhouse - I really liked the first couple minutes and then I got lost. I think overall it’s funny and has really great energy but I just didn’t really know what was going on and that’s a pet peeve in shows... at the very least the plot should be simple to follow. I loved some of their song choice though. KD Zeta - what an opener! I think this show has gotten a lot of heat for its plot which I think is partially well deserved and partially exaggerated because Zeta is not a show culture fav. Otherwise, they have great song choice and really solid choreo and vocals. If the plot was different I could see myself getting behind it a lot more but I just don’t love the story. Cute costumes though and I think the shortcomings of the creative aren’t enough to ruin the show for anyone and these girls should be proud for creating the best all girls show I’ve ever seen.
