I’m probably in the most diverse fraternity that had a house and there was about 32 people who registered themselves as minorities when entering rush (The majority of them Native American) and when it came to African Americans there were only 2 who were registered. My fraternity had more African American members than how many signed up this entire rush. It’s almost impossible to recruit people who don’t want to join greeklife. Okstate is also one of the most white major state schools in the nation that had a proper Greek life meaning our rates of POCs in our chapters is probably lower than most. I have heard of only one other chapter on campus not recruiting people of color because their alumni was against it but despite that they still had a person of color.
