They say you don't need it, but when you don't have one it not only makes you seem lazy or like you don't care since you didn't try to get a rec for that specific sorority. Additionally, if you don't have a rec, essentially you're an easy cut. If you need recs, get in touch with your local Panhellenic alumni association, or post on Facebook for recs. You'd be surprised at how many of your friends moms were sororities.
