When you complete your registration, you will fill in your lecacy (or legacies). Each house will get a list of girls that listed that house as a legacy. Make sure you list all your legacies. Each house has different definitions of a legacy. Some will only accept mother/grandmother/sister but it's good to see if you have other legacies in your family (cousin/aunt). Example-if you are a legacy to pi phi and zeta each of those houses will get your name on their list of legacies but gphi will not know that you are a legacy to other houses. Sometimes this information is known by someone in other houses (especially if in house sister or mom who is known to write a lot of rec letters)
