I can only give you my opinion on Delta Tau Delta because I currently am a brother. We are smaller but thriving! Our brotherhood is very tight knit and despite the many personalities we all tend to get along great. We take a lot of pride in our community service and philanthropy, hold our academics very high (highest gpa on campus) and we expect all of our brothers full commitment. We are currently aquiring a house and all signs look great. We currently have $1.5 million in futures from alumni and $.5 million loan for renovations. However, we are still new so our sorority connections are mostly personal acquaintances. We do not simply hold functions with one sorority but try to hangout with all of them. Our strongest ties are with OPA, KKG, Pi Phi and some XO. Our parties are not nearly as big as TKE, ΣΧ, or Phi Sig (it's hard to compete with brother's houses) but they will be become competitive with the new house. We are the 13th largest Fraternity Nationally but rank 3rd in Funding (Total holdings, Alumni Contributions, and Philanthropy support). Needless to say we have some really great alumni. For example, George Bennett (advisor to Ronald Reagan) visited us last semester and gave us a great lecture on choosing careers and problem solving. It has definitely opened a great network. We are currently working on an educational foundation to assist in Literacy for Elementaries in the local area. Hope that helps you get a brief idea of what we're about and what we do.
