Subject:
phi sigma kappa severs ties with wvu

Poster Message:
wvmetronews.com/2018/09/22/former-wvu-fraternity-officially-severs-ties/ A West Virginia University fraternity chapter has officially declared its intent to dissociate and form an independent interfraternity council in Morgantown. The Delta chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa was one of four fraternities to declare their intent to sever ties with WVU in the first week of the fall semester. All four sent letters declaring their intent to the university, but two of the fraternities reneged following meetings with administration officials. According to the national chapter, the decision is a result of questions surrounding due process over unadjudicated claims that were part of WVU’s Reaching the Summit (RTS) initiative. In a release to the press Saturday, Phi Sigma Kappa and their national affiliate again declared their belief that administrators at WVU singled out the local chapter. The national chapter and the members of the local Delta chapter have agreed to their own health and wellness standards, which is one of several issues the RTS initiative addressed at WVU. A request for comment has been issued to two WVU spokespeople.
