I 100 percent agree with you that it's an ego problem. Some people are petty and see a sorority as a way to bolster social status instead of, you know, a sisterhood. But my problem is I don't think that ego problem will be solved anytime soon. We can refuse to colonize new organizations and instead, but it won't help. Girls will just keep dropping out of recruitment. That's what is happening right now and there's no reason to believe it will change in the near future. I'm of the opinion that the best thing that can happen is we solve the numbers problem right now by bringing someone else to campus because it doesn't seem like NOT allowing them to come over is going to achieve the goal of helping the "lower tiers" anyway.
