To be honest, i wouldn't go in with that kind of attitude. If you go in think of certain sororities of "bottoms" and "tops", I doubt any of the "bottoms" would want to extend you a bid either. Trust me, the girls in those 5 sororities you mentioned do not think of themselves as "bottoms" at all! And if they start to feel like a PNM is treating them with any less respect than the other chapters, they will drop them in a heartbeat! Tell me, why do you want to be in AZD and SK? And then tell me what was "off" about the chapters you went to the open houses of? 9 times out of 10, PNMs don't have a tangible answer for some of these questions and just have the "bottom" and "top" mentality stuck in their heads. I get it, it's hard to break away from that high school mentality of popular and not popular. Most of the people perpetuating the tier talk on here are younger members who still have yet to realize that none of that matters. My honest opinion, stick with it no matter what to bid day and the pledge process. Recruitment is fast paced and it's once you go to your new member meetings with the rest of your pledge class and start looking for your big(!!) that you will really start to bond with the chapter! Some girls feel the connection instantly, sometimes it takes a little while. I can honestly say (and i may be biased ;] ) that being in a sorority will bring you more joy and be more fun than dropping out of recruitment. No matter WHAT sorority it is.
