What is a quota addition? First of all, quota is the number that sororities have to meet for their new member class. Quota equals the number of women who attend open house round(not the ones who registered, since some girls under Panhel's 2.5 GPA recruitment requirement still register), multiplied by the average percent of women pledged during the last three formal recruitments divided by the number of chapters. So, quota is based on how many girls are rushing, and therefore there can never really be too many PNMs, not enough spots. Quota last year was around 70 I think. A few years ago it was 50ish so sorority life at UD is really growing! So, a Quota Addition is a PNM who otherwise would not have gotten a bid, and will be matched to a chapter she has listed on her pref round rankings which is the smallest in chapter size, as long as her name appears on that chapter's preferential bid list (AKA they wanted to extend her a bid). So Suzy ranks after pref round 1. Sorority ABC and 2. Sorority XYZ, meaning she would prefer to get a bid from sorority ABC, but if XYZ extends her a bid she would accept it as well. The sororities turn in their preferential lists, the list of girls they would like to extend bids to. The list is bigger than what quota is because not everyone on their list will have ranked them as number 1. So quota is 70, the first 70 girls on that list are the chapters' ideal pledge classes.....
