If u have a good friend group and are satisfied with ur college experience without being in a sorority, then never join one. I joined because I couldn’t make decent friends for the life of me. I rushed what seemed like the “wholesome” sorority and they aint even top tier so I thought I would be good right?? Wrong. Everyone talks about the top tiers being toxic, but trust its more. Cant speak on other sororities but mine is def full of mean girls who crave power and like to put others down to fill that void of insecurities. They aint even IT like at least have a real reason to think ur above everyone else. They all sleep with each others bfs and are sooo cliquey. All they do is talk bad abt others behind each others backs. Think because u dont know most of the girls they are gonna be welcoming? Wrong again. They judge u from the beginning and wont even acknowledge u. Every event u attend will be awkward if ur not in the certain cliquey friend group. And for exec? Strict asf. Everything u do will be wrong and u will be screamed at. I was lucky to have a small friend group of the few nice girls in the sorority. Oh and if ur pretty?? Automatically bullied and excluded. Rumors will be created about u, even if u never even spoken to the person or if they never known u like that. And u have to attend and pay for everything but yet u receive nothing in return because somehow the sorority is broke? These girls act like they are in hs and act like they are above u. They act so sweet during rush and when ur a new member but it all changes after initiation. U want to be recognized for ur hard work and accomplishments? U wont. U wanna run for a position or exec but arent popular or friends w the clique? U wont get bs even if ur qualified. Its all about who knows who. Never witnessed this type of bullying since 8th grade. I only joined to make friends and luckily i did, but damn.
