It’s probably because the sports culture here is very minimal compared to other big state schools like Penn State, Rutgers, and Ohio State Instead of getting drunk at a stadium way more kids here get drunk at a dage, a thing you generally need to be in a frat to get into if you’re a guy. Greek life doesn’t have much competition here in terms of influencing the social scene, and there’s no bars on Main Street that take fakes either.
