Every sorority decides who they’re inviting back and then giving a bid to. It’s not like the sorting hat in Harry Potter. You don’t get placed into a chapter randomly or even based on certain factors like your sister. They call it a “mutual selection process” but I’ll be honest the sororities definitely are doing most of the selecting. You meet girls, they meet you, after each round you rank your houses in order of who you'd like to visit again the most (PNMs do NOT cut chapters...) and the sororities do the same thing. Next round, you see who invited you back. Could be the max amount, could be 1. You do this until pref round where you only go to a max of 2 chapters (you might only have 1). And I’ll be honest with you, if a sorority invited you to pref round there is a 99% chance they WANT to extend you a bid. There’s just other factors like chapter size, how high you end up on their bid list, etc that determine which chapter (if you have 2 left) you end up in. One of them being who you rank first after pref round!! You must rank both chapters available to you at pref round and you’ll be basically garunteed a bid to one of those chapters. If you don’t rank both and only rank one chapter you will run the risk of not getting a bid at all on bid day. Hope this helped I know it was a lot...seriously just trust the process
