Sororities are all looking for different things. I got dropped by some that I really liked/thought I had amazing conversations there. Some drop for GPA--my roommates got cut from those. Some are based on an "image" they wish to portray. I still have sigma kappa and alpha phi left. I didn't feel I fit in those though, as I am really invested in academics and I didn't get quite the best vibe after I left the room. For me, I look at it as where I fit in, not where I want to be based on looks and what my friends in frat think. I want to be with girls who can see me at my highest and love me at my lowest. I would like to have a family where I can stand out and learn a lot about unique people, not just people who are from the same hometown or have the same friends. Like I mentioned before, I am involved in academics and I'm also not from anywhere remotely from the east coast either. I was a model, cheerleader, and ran cross country in high school, so I'd like to think I'm in good shape (still can't pass up those nugs though). All in all, I am a little disappointed I was dropped from certain houses, but I'm happy looking forward because I now see why I would be a better fit in others. (: If you're like me, you like diversity and appreciate uniqueness, sororities look for people who generally fit in, not stand out and have a completely different attributes. Maybe sorority life here isn't for you or our greek life isn't as broad to cover girls like yourself and myself.
