You don’t HAVE to make a cooler if you go to a frat formal. It however can be a nice touch if you do make one, especially if the guy your go with is paying for your room/ticket/etc. if you feel like it, do it. You could also make a flask or paint a jug or something. Be warned, it’s an undertaking though so you gotta commit. Frats I’ve seen coolers made for pretty frequently: Kappa Sig, Pike, Sig Ep, and Delt, usually places that go to an away weekend for formal.
