I'll second this! I ended up in a house that isn't top tier and, in general, goes out less but I've never had a problem finding sisters to go out with. I won't lie and say that reputation doesn't matter and won't affect your experience in a house - being in the "top" house definitely is a different experience from being in the absolute "bottom" house. But pretty much everyone at this school has friends in different houses and tiers don't entirely determine everything about your social life. Honestly, ranking and reputation are things to consider if you end up on pref night with two houses that are really different, but I'd encourage people to choose houses they feel comfortable in if they have houses that are even slightly similar. You can find people you mesh with in pretty much every house, even if you didn't love it during recruitment. Just give it some thought, and drop if you really can't make connections because yea it's not worth it to pay dues if you really aren't happy with your house.
