my frat has weak hazing, and its why our brotherhood sucks. i'm just going to say hazing builds commitment, research shows that higher cost of entry leads to a more committed group. i'm going to be the devils advocate, i never understood hazing until I joined a fraternity that barely does it. people don't feel committed to the organization.
