rush
by: pnmI'm debating whether or not to rush because I'm scared about if I will get cut or not. I have a very good gpa and have been involved in a lot of different activities like sports and clubs all 4 years of high school. I am from out of state though and don't know anyone. Is there still a chance I will get a bid?

You'll Forsure get a bid unless you're weird/ painfully awk. I'm from out of state and had an amazing rush and got into a top house and one of my best friends is also out of state and got into the same house as me and she knew no one going into rush. It's all about making a good impression. Yes connections help but sometimes If you make an amazing impression and wow the girls away that's enough! Even if you don't get a top house just based off gpa and involvement I feel the middle tier will defiantly have a spot for you. Tri delt, pi phi, and zeta have lots of out of state girls and are all great houses! Adpi also takes out of state girls as well and are improving rapidly! So I wouldn't worry too much!! It's VERY unlikely you will go completely bidless. Make sure you gather as many Recs as you possibly can tho

Also if you are out of state you defiantly want to rush! You make SO many friends that way, from ur gamma chi groups to the girls you are standing in like with... and keeps the home sickness away because you literally don't have time to feel home sick. Also college can be scary and lonely at points but being welcomed and having support of all ur new sisters makes the transition a 100 times easier. And I think it's stupid you wouldn't rush because ur scared of not getting a bid, if you don't rush you have zero chance of getting a bid but if you do rush you have about a 98.9 chance of getting one.
