dg hate??

I agree with you that chi o, DG, and KD are top groups. You left off phi mu, which continually has great girls as well. Please don't come back and say that phi mu has to always defend itself. It doesn't. Many many many of its members are on student government groups and are active in many campus groups. I'm really tired of whoever it is that continually bashes any of these groups. I have watched these four OUTSTANDING groups and all of the Greek groups bust their butts for philothranpic causes to have an independent, scorned mother, mad rushee, or stalker come on here to say something unsubstantiated. I think all FOUR of the top groups belong there. Way to work hard ladies!! The first poster is uninformed.

Answer this question: why does the mention of phi mu send you into a hate-filled monologue? I can go back and copy/paste all of the hateful things you have said to phi mu. It's not high jacking. It's someone bringing to your attention that you continuously and purposefully leave off this group when saying ' the top three groups". When asking people on campus, most would say there are 4 top groups . That's all the poster was saying. Dang, girl, get you panties out if knot about showing such negativity towards phi mu. The poster bragged on all 4 groups as it is.

Yeah I agree, Phi mu DG and chi o have been dominating this year which is why they have gotten the most hate on this site.

Phi Mu is strong. I agree they aren't quite as strong as DG KD, and Chi O but it's because they had a few really down years from '08 to '11... so so pledge classes, low involvement, low grades, awful retention issues. But In the past 4 years they have greatly improved in every area and deserve to be in the discussion as a top group.

True. The only people who would argue this are people new to the MSU Greek system. Most of my sister's hometown friends were Phi Mus during the down time. They were frustrated but were the group who helped spark the turn-around. Phi Mu is great! Most don't consider them equal to the others because of this. Tip top groups are consistent over decades.

How many decades ? My mom was here in the 80's. Kd was not considered top notch according to her and her chi o friends. Kd only became strong in the last 10 years.

Not true. Every group has some down years - there is an ebb and flow to every house. But since the early 70s Chi O, KD, and DG have been the top groups and even in down years none of them have ever not been considered the best houses here. KD's top tier status is absolutely not in the last 10 years. That's why all the big sorority alums from MSU in Jackson, Tupelo, the Delta, Memphis, everywhere we pull the best girls, are from these 3 houses.

You're telling everyone that basically KD has been tip top since they became a chapter at State because they started at 71 or so. I don't fully believe that. Especially since Zeta used to be top during the 80s. KD has been strong for a good bit but not since day 1.

Zeta wasn't that strong since all of the private school girls from all the good towns have been going Chi O, KD, and DG since they got on campus. If Zeta or whoever was really top, a new house wouldn't have passed them so easily.

there was a time that Zeta was strong in the 80s especially when they were at all 3 big schools. But when the other two chapters closed down, it hurt them and have never overcame that. And by your logic, phi Mu has failed since they let two other houses be higher than them even though they were newer. Food for thought.

Ole Miss had a terrible Zeta chapter. But, USM never had Zeta. Check your facts before posting here. Phi Mu was established at State in the 60's according to their website. They have been a top
notch group since then. KD came along in the 70's. They did great for a new chapter. Zetas were great at this time as well . Zeta began to slip in the early 90's. KD continued to become better. To say they have been the best for several decades is sorta correct. The best groups during the late 90's and 90's however were (in order) chi o, phi mu, kd, zeta, then tri delta. There were other sororities they came and went but these have been consistent. I work in the office of Greek life. If you want a historical and chronological timeline, just ask there. Don't just put stuff on here that is not true.

Ignorant girl, you totally left off dg. According to their website they got on campus in 1966 but got a charter in 1969. And they've been one of the best since the late 70s. I'm from a very large town here and I knew TONS of dg alums from msu when looking for recs so I know they had to be strong. My mom was here in the early 80s and was a kd and she had good friends that were dg.
