#1 pnm
by: LemonI read this under the Chi-O post and was just wondering: What does this mean? I always thought there are many great girls going tru rush, some considered top. But how do you define ONE girl as the #1? What makes her more special than all the other girls? Parents? Money? Looks? Connections? There are tons of girls with super high GPAs and great envolvement and achievments.

It's how chi o handled it along with the other situations during the last rush. Yes, the rushee could have handled it better. Also, many want to understand how chi o trains it's new members. One of its new members asked a rushee to cut groups she was a legacy of in order for the rushee to receive a chi o bid. She was reprimanded for bid promising. Now, she is chi o rush chairman. Let's hope she doesn't train new members in the same fashion. There are a lot of questions about chi o rush practices.

Panhellenic DOES NOT rank PNMs and there is no "#1" PNM. Each sorority does have a rating system to helol during recruitment but there is not a consensus #1 PNM. The ratings are based on high school grades, involvement and honors. It helps sororities when making decisions about releasing girls. Connections don't factor in to the rating, at least with my sorority they don't. There are many PNMs with outstanding grades and involvement though. The girl they keep referring to may not have been #1 for every sorority and she definitely wasn't when she transferred to Ole Miss.
