They probably are great girls but again taking 13 from two schools in the same area is like inbreeding. You keep getting the same genes over and over again. Your chapter cannot grow that way.

And those 2 schools aren't on the same status pull with Jackson Prep and Jackson Academy.

Yea, I think they are. They have three times the number of national merit finalists as either school. That is an indicator, using data, that any college or industry goes by when comparing private to public schools. Take the kids in upper college prepatory classes at mc and compare scores to prep and JA. They are equal or better in most cases. That is why the girls from those public schools are sought after at State and ole miss. Go look at the data in the panhellenic office.

The academic courses aren't as rigorous at public schools. I know girls who struggled to make their grades at JA and Prep, but made Honor Roll at MC. Public schools are just easier to make your grades. A 3.5 at a large private school doesn't compare with the same at a large public school. Just a known fact.

SAT and ACT are nationally administered tests. They don't have any affiliation to schools. MC has the highest percentage National Merit finalists if ANY school in the state. You do realize those test are how National Merit Finalusts are chosen, correct? Go read the data or papers. I went to MC and I have yet to struggle in college. Seriously, site your data on how JA and Prep, in advanced college-prep courses, are more rigorous than MC? I am good friends with girls from both schools and have been told by them that my level of education was equal to theirs. Why are so many families moving from Jackson to Madison to get away from high tuition (and crime)? Let's see.....it's the schools!
