bids

There is no magic formula for getting into any house. But like @Those 2 said, those houses are a lot more challenging to get into than some of the other ones. You can't waltz into rush and just automatically get a bid to Chi O or Phi Mu, or DG or KD for that matter. You really have to have the whole package. Grades, involvement, personality, looks, connections, recs, etc. If you're lacking in one of these areas, then you need to be really strong in some of the other areas. Connections are one of the most important things. There are a lot of girls that go through rush. If you don't have anyone to fight for you when the houses are trying to decide which girls to invite back or drop them, then you could be disappointed the next day when you get your invite list. Not to say that girls don't get into top houses without connections, because they do. But they most likely were homecoming queen, student body president, are pretty, have a high GPA, have glowing recs, etc. Personality is another really important thing. If you don't have any connections but you have great conversations with all the girls you talk to, then they may like you enough to take a chance on you and fight for you even though they only talked to you for 20 minutes. You could be a PNM that those houses really want, or you could slip through the cracks. It doesn't mean you are any less of a great person, but there are also so many other great PNMs, and not everyone can be in the same house.

The above poster wants you to think that KD is on the same level with chi o. It is not. Chi O is on its own level. KD and Phi Mu are more similar. Several KD's received DUI's this year. They do not have as many senators as chi o. As far as I know, phi mu girls haven't had any DUI'S. That can change but let's keep this honest. KD, phi mu and chi o are all three great, they just have their own personalities.
