It's just interesting that everytime a positive comment is posted on the DG page, a negative one shows up on the Chi O page. Not necessarily pointing fingers just pointing out an observation. But your response to my comment, a positive comment for DG and a very negative comment for Chi O show up within minutes if each other. Makes one think ...

I am new on campus but have heard that DG is not liked much by the other sororities. Any one know why?

Read the comments on here and you will see both sides of the story, then get to know some DGs, watch them on campus and form your own opinion.

...original candidates that they'd voted on as a group that they'd (DG) still run the ones they originally decided upon. So, they did. And they won.

Well, that made the rest of the groups boiling mad because none of them could win eletions without other groups - but DG could. So, they continued every year to try and force DG into participating in 'Greek-wide' nominations where they (DG) weren't getting a fair shake. So DG just decided that since they weren't getting a fair shot at the positions everyone else was getting a fair shot at, then they just didn't need to participate at all...and they still won just about everything they ran for - which further infuriated some other groups.

SO, last year, some sororities got together and decided on a bunch of extra, arbitrary rules on top of those the school set forth. After those rules were agreed upon, all the sororites got together for another meeting - a secret one, without letting DG know about it.

Your history on homecoming elections is completely wrong. Traditionally ALL sororities worked together to elect Greek women to the homecoming court (which at the time was mostly independent). In the fall of 2008 DG broke away and choose to go it alone!

Traditionally?? How long do you consider it taking to make a tradition?? 1 year..2?? You're way off on your history. I graduated from MSU more years ago than I care to admit and can promise you that this scenario of running "Greek candidiates" as a panhellenic is nowhere in the history of MSU Greeks...until about 4 years ago.

2010 - you don't have to look very far.

You're right - meant every maid spot plus Queen...not Miss MSU - my fingers got ahead of me.

But out of the whole story - THAT is the only thing you question?? Okay....

It is all one groups' view verses the view of 6 other sororities. You're story of the beginning of issues is a little off from how I remember it in 2008.and a verbal agreement was also backed out of in 2010. As I said, there are two sides to every story.

...several sides to any story...

but there was a reason DG backed out of that 'verbal agreement' in 2010 - and it was because of that secret meeting that Greek Life never punished any of the other groups for having...even though it's clearly against Green Book regulations.
