be honest kids

by:

This is my honest and truly unbiased assessment of where everyone stands. I've been here and I've seen what actually matters and what is short sighted. I understand that while we must live in the present, history counts too. Despite what you might think, I did not rank my house #1 and wrote pros and cons for everyone, including my own group.

Top tier: XO, KD/DG
XO: They win top right now. The last year, maybe 2, have been dominated by XO. No one can take that from them, it's a great sorority, and they continue to pledge top classes. There's no reason to not give them this spot, and it will take a shift to lose it, but chapters change every year and just because XO won't dominate 1 year doesn't mean they are any less than wonderful. With that being said,
KD and DG are tied to me right now. It ebbs and flows, XO is top dog right now, but that doesn't mean we should take anything away from KD and DG either. 2-3 years ago KD was on top that year. Nothing spectacular has happened to them since, they've been consistently strong but lost some leadership that really counted IMO. Great sorority and well rounded. And actually, 3-4 years ago DG had a dominating year. Like I said, it rotates. Some people don't know what to do with DG, but this is my unbiased thought. We know by now they'll do their own thing for HC and campaign hard, so what? It's old news. They're advisors decide and the world keeps spinning. This seemed like SUCH a big deal when I was a freshman,

but I'm still friends with a lot of them and I know they're girls were still cross rushed from top houses. Involvement is still really good with good leadership. Are they shinning as brightly as XO, not currently. But they never lost their top 3 spot. Basically, KD and DG are still awesome and little changes or seeming out rushed one year or moderate drama really hasn't changed the top 3. What has changed, is how much closer the top mid is to the top 3:
Top Middle:
Phi Mu/DDD: really on par IMO. I'd give the edge to Phi Mu right now, but DDD is more up and coming currently. Phi Mu made a case for moving up probably 3 years ago, but has stalled since. They are working hard on involvement, but not breaking any records. Grades are improving, but literally on top of DDD too. All in all, Phi Mu is an awesome sorority that has a lot to be proud of, but isn't as high and mighty as I think they think they are. DDD on the other hand is a rising star. Do they need a lot of hard work? Yes, everyone could use some work. But they have improved grades and involvement very quickly and have a lot to be proud of. Had a great rush and are getting really competitive, solidified there spot right along with Phi Mu this year IMO.

Bottom mid/ Upper bottom:
ZTA/Pi Phi: Both of these chapter have improved light years in the last few years. I rank them together because they are both very up and coming and need the same things to really improve to the same level as Phi Mu/DDD. They both had outstanding rushes but have had retention issues, involvement is lacking, and grades need some work. But all of these things are so much better than in years past and the members should be so proud of how much they've accomplished.
Bottom:
ADPi: I hate leaving them by themselves, because they're just so new. But I think they work ZTA and Pi Phi have done earned them to be separate. ADPi is doing well for their age, and once Kappa joins campus they won't be by themselves. This isn't negative about ADPi, but they need to earn their place and pay their dues. Their accomplishments so far have them well on there way.

Overall, I'm seriously proud of every single sorority on this campus. The improvements and competitiveness of every chapter is something to brag about. There is a ranking to acknowledge how hard every chapter is working, but that does not mean anything negative about anyone. Everyone should be proud.

Please. Get a life outside of this site. Pathetic that you have thought about this so much. If your trying to convince others , it didn't work.
You can write on here all you want, people on campus know the truth

"Senior" seems to know what she is talking about. As usual only one group would argue.

First of all, I think almost anyone on campus that knows people in greek life knows where everyone stands. I agree with this and my group is not considered top. "Senior" was practical with evaluations, I know what we need to work on and that's what was pointed out. I'd like to say though, you have no reason to say to "get a life outside of this site" because this could b the only thing she's ever posted. Who knows?! Your comments were negative and defensive, something "Senior" avoided. Maybe learn something there.

Seems @senior put way too much thought into this..... She surely doesn't know every sorority and their issues. The grade thing has been beaten to death. Not one sorority had lacking grades! Highest gpa was a 3.4 and lowest a 3.0. Not nearly enough of a spread to argue about. Not one sorority has retention problems as of the last 4 years! Kd did about 6 years ago. Phi mu did about 5 years ago. Dg did about 7 years ago . Zeta was THE chapter to be in 15 years ago! Let this petty arguing stop. All msu sororities are great!stop getting on here and making things up to suit you. Get the facts!

The highest GPA was a 3.51 not a 3.4
ZTA has not been the "it" sorority since the 80's - much longer than 15 years ago.
Last years Phi Mu senior class had 25 members - retention issue.
Fact - if you have been involved in the MSU Greek system for 3 full years it is easy to get a good feel for each sorority and it's strengths/weaknesses.

3.5 to a 3.0 still says no one is lacking in grades. One sr class doesn't =retention problem. Total number would =retention problem...duh.
In years you form an opinion but you don't know facts. Fact is zeta was an it sorority.

I am not the "facts" person from above, but wanted to chime in. Zeta was a very strong chapter a VERY long time ago. But MS and Memphis girls have been very XO/KD/DG centered for a VERY long time too. In my opinion, having a senior class HALF the size of other chapter's class is a retention problem. And Phi Mu's senior class has been at least 20 members smaller than XO/KD/DGs for several years. Other chapters have retention problems as well, not just Phi Mu, not trying to pick on them. But you called them out specifically so I was responding. If you pledge 80+ girls and don't graduate at least 50-60, something's wrong.
