tri delta reality vs reputation

by: let down

I joined a sorority this fall and tbh after pref I was really torn between tri delta and the sorority I ended up preffing - phi mu. I absolutely love mine and am so glad I listed them as my no 1. I was torn bc of the "reputation" I had for each in my head leading up to recruitment. I'm posting this to let everyone know to go with your gut instinct, not a preconceived idea of what each of the houses would be.
All summer long, tri delta was all I wanted but each round I felt more and more unsure. Actually, I was upset at myself and made up excuses why I wasn't connecting with them the way I wanted to. Looking back, I think it was just who I was paired up with. No offense but they were mostly nerds and awkward girls who were into anime. I was gutted bc I thought for sure I would be paired with the cute, girls I pictured in my head that would be my sisters.
Bottom line, don't go into recruitment with preconceived notion of who you 100% want bc reality might not line up with our silly hs expectations.

Tri Delt sucks. Miss State sucks. Just avoid the school and all of the pitiful sororities that are there.

idk if you’re actually a phi mu or trying to give it a mean look but if so you shouldnt be on here saying that while calling girls in another sorority “awkward nerds into anime”- coming from a phi mu..

I am and the point of my post was to tell all girls to keep an open mind!!!!!! I had thought that I would want to be a tri delta but in reality they didn't mesh with me. Nothing wrong with that. But I really struggled during recruitment because I came in with a certain mindset. There are weird girls in every sorority, that's a fact.
I love phi mu and am so glad I went with my gut instinct not with preconceived notions.
