compared to ole miss

by:

Just wondering how competetive miss state was compared to ole miss. Also I'm from missouri and a triple dg legacy, with all other creditentals (good gpa, varsity sports, clubs awards, not bad looking) would i have a possibility of making it into dg without knowing anyone? Also what is the nightlife/ party scene compared to ole miss?

DG, XO, and KD each have too many legacies coming through than they can take. Sometimes it can be harder to be legacy for these houses if you don't know anyone connected to MSU (or Ole Miss I guess). Here PCs are let's say 80 members, with 20-30 legacy spots, and easily 100 legacies coming through. With good involvement, GPD, and recs you stand a good chance, but the connections you make during rush will be the deciding factor. As far as night life, it's great both places. Ole Miss is known to be more of a party school, so it's more constant and crazy there, but I've never looked for a good time in Starkville and been disappointed.

You have a good chance of getting in, try and meet actives. Also if you do get cut there are ways to still get in if you know the right people and by contacting nationals sense you are a 3rd generation legacy. A lot of girls will say this isn't possible but if you really are a 3rd generation legacy and you really want in DG there are ways and strings that can be pulled so you'll end up in DG. Just a tip

I understand being a legacy and all, but why would you want to be a part of a certain sorority if they didn't want you. It's best to keep your options open and put your best foot forward at all houses. I wouldn't risk the chance of being pulled through at last minute. All of our sororities are wonderful and you seem like you would be an asset to any of them. Good luck with your recruitment.

You have a good chance if getting in but you can turn that good chance into a great chance if you network and meet actives.

Recruitment at MSU can be just as competitive as Ole Miss for PNMs with top grades, activities, and leadership. Every sorority carefully considers their legacies but the top groups can be very selective and want the best girls, legacy or not ... DG is a group that can be selective. Be yourself and have fun!!
