Being released

by:

Being released comes across as harsh I know. It is a hurt like no other. However take inventory of reasons why you could have been released. Was it your grades? Was it your attitude your senior year of high school ? were you arrogant Towards other people? Are there mothers in your community that may have a reason to dislike you and write you a bad rec? Like it or not, people watch you, see you and hear you. It may sound fake but you should be careful how you present yourself in public and online.

Just stop it. Recruitment is a numbers game. No need to shame hundreds of pnm's who have done absolutely nothing wrong who get released from some houses.

Each house has a limit they can invite back. If a pnm doesn't make the cutoff for certain houses it's just because other pnm's were higher on their list who had ranked those houses first, so they matched and everyone else was automatically released.

For the first round it's all about grades and connections and girls with a 3.5 will be cut from some houses for that reason. For the next rounds it will be all about conversations and how pnm's present themselves, and a sorority can like a pnm just fine but their cut off number will dictate how many they can take.

It's a numbers game.

Not being invited back to some chapters does NOT mean you’ve been “released” unless you make it mean that. Every chapter at State has great women and enormous potential (yes, even “top” houses have the potential to be better).
