No kidding. Crazy how many girls go through. It's tougher and tougher to get a top or mid tier bid.

True. 915 pnms this year. 918 pnms last year. Ngl we need axo to do well and another one to come to state.

They had a bunch of transfers from other universities. And those count against house total.

If someone wants to drop, the chapter alumnae are informed then tell her family they no longer have to pay dues. They do whatever it takes to keep the house number high so pnms believe they are highly sought after.

So weird that people have such sad lives that they have time to come on here and make stuff up. You know they don’t let someone stay in the chapter for free. You know they are a top chapter. You putting fake information on here over and over isn’t going to change that. Focus on your own chapter.

Literally I have a good friend who told dg she wanted to drop and they let her stay in it and she hasn’t paid a dime in over 2 years. I’ve heard this happening from multiple people but she actually told me so…

I know this for a fact. It's my roommate who is a DG and when she put in to quit they contacted her mom and told her she needs to remain as an "active" member on paper but they'll be handling the dues. Clearly, retention matters to DG and they want to protect their image. Later on, some exec did tell her that she shouldn't count on having her future daughters go DG. Wink wink, there is some sort of record kept on these girls.

The larger & stronger a group is going into rush, the fewer they’re allowed to invite. Greek life does that to try and keep all groups “even.”

Is this the same “friend” that told you DG was on probation and wouldn’t have date parties this year? They had date parties all semester. Why are you so insecure? Build your own chapter up instead of tearing your “friend’s” chapter down. I will tell you why this isn’t true: It would set a horrible precedent, and all the girls would say they were dropping to be in DG for free. Last I am commenting on this because I have a life to get back to.

I mean to be fair, she doesn’t participate at all(chapter, date parties, meals), she just will get alumni status once she graduates and they still post her for her birthday. I completely believe that dg was not on social probation so I agree with you there. I’m just going off of her word. She wanted to drop because she didn’t like being in it, money was never an issue, and they continue to have her in their chapter total without paying a single due. As far as “worrying about my own chapter,” I recognize when my chapter has flaws. I don’t try to hide it. But when someone asks for the truth, they deserve to know it

XO/DG/KD - mostly in state girls
PM - southern girls without strong pull in top houses
DDD/ADP - mix of in state and out of state girls
ZTA - mostly out of state girls and bad instate rep girls
PBP/AXO - mostly out of state girls

I literally preffed DG and phi Mu. I chose phi Mu over dg due to the cult-like feel of dg. Several IG my friends preffed the same combination or other top houses. We all chose phi Mu.

Doubtful you would have gotten dg. Girls need two alumna to back them in order to receive a bid. Dg is completely alums driven which is why many end up hating it there. Actives have very little say in who gets a bid.
It's very common for girls in a mid house to have preffed one top and one mid. It's more rare for a girl to pref two top houses. Now those girls HAVE connections!

Variable quota is used when there is a large gap between one (or more houses) than all the others in terms of the number of members they have. It forces houses with a larger number of members (chi o, delta gamma, kappa delta) to make deeper cuts early on so more PMNs can go back to see other houses (alpha chi, pi beta phi, and zeta tau alpha) during more rounds. The ones with lower retention rates (pi beta phi and zeta tau alpha) and the newer house (alpha chi omega) benefit from not being able to cut PNMs the first few rounds in hopes that the PNMs will meet more girls in their house each round. More contact gives more opportunity to fall in love with them.
Variable quota can be a great thing for some of the houses.
If you are a PNM without deep connections in a few houses, variable quota will be your friend by keeping houses on your list each round. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS!!!! Go in with an open mind and try to connect with the girls you meet. There are wonderful girls in each and every house. You will find your home if you go in with an open heart.
