A specific sorority is not predetermined to come on. When expansion opens, NPC announces it to all member organizations, and any sorority national that is interested may apply to colonize and submit proposals. A few are chosen by Panhellenic to make presentations, and then Panhellenic decides who to invite to come on. KKG can't just decide to come on, and Panhellenic can't just pick and choose without the due process.

Kappa was announced as a first choice due to them being here in the past. But it is subject to their financials/being able to build a house and their nationals have not announced the chapter reactivation as a done deal. Pending this, the process could start over again.

Honey, nobody "in the college world of administration" is saying that. Just ask Harvard about their ill-considered ban of single-gender organizations a few years ago that blew up in their faces worse than Dylan Mulvaney's Bud Light campaign. They were forced to recind that policy, which was decidedly anti-Greek, due to the overwhelming push back, bad press and law suits filed. And you really are uninformed about the sororities' nationals' updated legacy and recommendation policies that are now designed to make membership more accessible for those without legacy or Greek connections. Or the fact that sororities and fraternities are private social organizations that have the right to choose their own members, and membership is not a right that every student is owed. You know, like you can't play on the football team, or basketball team, or any sports team, just because you want to? Or you can't be the star in the play just because you want it so bad? You also don't get that Greek alumni are far more loyal and supportive of their alma maters than non-Greeks and the real power donators to their universities, both to academics and athletics, and administrations know this. Greeks are the joiners, doers, and go-getters and schools know better than to screw up their donor base. Greek life isn't going anywhere; it has always been affected by the ups and downs of college admissions demographics and the economy, but national organizations are able to adapt and survive.
