Question about Snap bids
by: CuriousWhen do sororities decide if they are giving snap bids. Are the pnms contacted bid day morning if a snap bid is being offered?

My chapter only gives snaps to girls who dropped or withdrew. We don’t give them to girls we cut/ who cut us.

If a chapter wants to offer you a snap bid, they will contact you and you better accept if you want any chance of getting in. If you stall, they move onto the next person on their list. You can't hold out and wait to see if anyone else calls. You graciously accept any offer at this point and sign that bid card.

The snap bids are for exactly this situation. Chapters that get higher returns are forced to make very hard cuts. Let's say they love 500 pnms but are forced by Panhel to cut 200. They invite 300 of those 500 to Sisterhood round. Then, they fall short of quota but some of those 200 that they hoped to keep have dropped, they can go through that list and offer them a snap bid. It's picking up the women they liked who fell through the cracks. Please PNMs, know that it is not personal. So many chapter have to cut women they really really like. It's the way the numbers work. But, snap bids are few and far between. Don't expect one. If you are having second thoughts about dropping, look into COB for chapters that don't make quota.

The rules are that any pnm who started the first round and was either dropped or dropped out, including not getting a bid through SIP, is eligible for a snap. HOWEVER; 1) no sorority that cut you, at any point, is going to turn around and give you a snap, 2) if you dropped because you didn't like the houses you had left, those houses are the ones that would snap you, 3) there are very, very few snaps that are ever given out, so getting a snap is nothing to count on.

My sister was cut by phi mu and then offered a snap from them. I also know 2 that got snaps from KD after being cut by them

There will be tons of snap bids this year! The houses were forced to cut girls to make numbers and there were girls that should not have been cut! Good luck and hope you get a snap from your top house

There is a difference between a COB and a Snap. The people you are talking about got COB's, not Snaps.

DG is not a top 3. Will you PLEASE stop trying to make DG happen. You always use chi o and KD in the same sentence with DG. Can DG just stand alone on its own merit? That proves you are trying to force DG to be “top 3.” Who cares? You are trying way to hard.
