What did I do wrong?
by: this sucksI thought I did super well during the go Greek round only to find out I have only 3 houses to go to for philanthropy round and it kinda crushes my spirit. I’m a freshmen and I have a really good gpa and lots of extracurriculars. I wasn’t shy at all and felt I had some very genuine convos. I am an out of state pnm so that could be the reason? Does any have any ideas why? I’m so nervous for sisterhood day!

First, do not take it personally which is so hard. Second, it is easier to cut OOR girls (they are not neighbors, at the same school, same church, etc.). So that is the nature of the beast…which makes recruitment so tough for those girls willing to branch out and travel to attend MS State.
Honestly, it will work out. I found my home and met some lifelong friends bc we were all out of state. Good luck and keep your chin up.

Don’t get discouraged. It happens to a lot of girls. Unfortunately the out of state girls do get stiffed often because they don’t know a ton of people coming into recruitment. Going into recruitment I didn’t realize that when it came to Go Greek, the conversations don’t really matter, and they already have their roster set for philanthropy round. I promise you’ll find a great place for you.

First, PNM cuts are based on return rate statistics from several years back. The higher number of girls wanting to return to a house make that house have to work with a narrower margin (drop more girls). Conversely, the houses with lower return rates can invite back more girls. Houses aren’t dropping girls so they can go AXO. It does not work that way. Second, you have three houses that wanted to see you again. They liked you enough to want to get to know you better. Give them a chance. Find something to like about all three. and forget the ones that didn’t invite you back. Then hopefully you keep those 3 until pref. Keep finding things that are great about those sororities. Make a list if you have to. Fingers crossed for you.
