Yes numbers are lower then last year. By a lot. And more houses then last year mean smaller pledge classes. And yes variable quota will be implemented this year. Which means alpha chi will have a larger class then others. Panhellenic WILL push for alpha chi to have a successful bid day which will unfortunately cause some girls to be given an alpha chi bid who don’t want it and blame it on “numbers”. Pan needs alpha chi to be successful so more chapters come to state. Definitely would be worried if I was a PNM who was against the possibility of going alpha chi. Every pnm should come in open this year, for sure.

Y'all don't seem to understand what Variable Quota is. It's not the same thing as Quota Plus. State did have actual Variable Quota here a few years back but the current actives weren't here then so don't understand how controversial a thing it really is. It was a HUGE DEAL, and practically caused a riot. There were so many po'd mammas with legacy daughters and other po'd mammas who were sure their daughters were a slam dunk for a top house, and they complained to anybody and everybody they could call and email at the school and at their various nationals, and threatened to pull out their kids and send them to ole miss and stop donating to State and it was practically a war for panhellenic to manage.

One of the girls who will be in my dorm said she registered a week before it was supposed to close and that her pnm number was in the 700s. Isn't that normally how many sign up?
