Most desirable houses
by: 546I was accepted to Mississippi State a few weeks ago and am excited to be attending next year. I'm coming from a midwest state. I haven't see much talked about for far out of state girls, mostlyones from GA, TN, FL, and AL. Someone mentioned out of region is considered very different than "out of state" in the eyes of sororities. Which houses do the far out of state girls usually end up at? Thx

Out of region girls could end up running home anywhere, but it's exceptionally unusual to land at XO, DG, and KD. PM us to take a lot more OOR pnms but unfortunately, that has changed in the last 2 or so years. These houses fill themselves with friends from back home and swiftly cut most far out of state girls by the second round. it's difficult because houses want to find girls would will fit in and they have sooo many hometown girls to choose from that unless a pnm from far out of state has a connection to some influential in house girls it's difficult to pull them to the end of recruitment.

If you want to have the best chance at any house you need to try to meet girls in all the sororities somehow. The best way is thru campus tours with a Roadrunner who is in a sorority and at Orientation with an OL. If you’re allowed to visit in the spring that could help too. Like above said, it will be really hard to get into DG, KD, XO, and maybe PM without meeting someone before rush to have them pulling for you in house. Very few girls without connections from OOR get in each year. The other houses take more OOR girls, to their benefit, so don’t be discouraged because with a good resume and GPA you’ll find a home.
