Don’t assume anything
by: A questionerI just read a post on sigma chi’s Instagram page where one of their members stated under his picture that he was going to medical school. He is a junior. He has not been accepted to med school yet. It is hard as heck to get into med school. Most people take years to get in. I know this because my brother didn’t get in after three tries and had a great resume. It’s offensive that someone there is so sure he will get in. They need to watch their posts.

#3by: Why so bitter?
That post says he plans to, not that he’s been accepted. I happen to know him and he’s a great guy and his dad is a dr @ UMMC so I would be shocked if he doesn’t get in eventually. No need to be nasty and jealous.
Not a big fan of sigma chi but leave the dude alone. He’s actually one of the good ones.
#4by: A better answer
Would sound better if he said, “I will apply for Med school” or “I would like to attend med school.” My dad teaches at the med school and one thing they look at for applicants is how arrogant they are in thinking Med school is a given. Just because your parent is on staff doesn’t mean anything. Several applicants don’t make it in because of that.
