lets get the facts straight
by: xoxoFor those who aren't aware, snap bids don't get handed out until later this week. So, whoever got a bid on bid day, that is bid. NOT a snap bid. we are in the middle of a ~p a n d e m i c~ there are bigger things to worry about right now

Snap bid: a bid extended to a girl who was released or dropped out of rush the morning of bid day. She shows up to the house just like everyone else and no one is any wiser that she wasn’t on the original list unless they were on the rush team and blabbed, or it was obvious this girl was not at their pref and then showed up on bid day. This happens when a house gets their list, has spots to fill to get to quota, and extends the bid to someone not at their pref to make it to quota and save face. The girl is informed by a phone call from her Gamma Chi on bid day.
COB: continuous open bidding. Anything after bid day. If a chapter is still under campus total and eligible to take more girls they can fill those spots with anyone they want. Friends of members. Girls who were released or withdrew from rush but sign up for COB. Upperclassmen. Anyone. Typically they have COB events and big girls afterwards, sometimes if it’s just a couple of spots it’s very informal and the sorority contacts the girl directly and offers her a spot. You can COB and be under total but still have made your quota on bid day. If total is 300, you have 200 members, quota from rush is 90 and you get 90, you can still COB 10 girls to build your numbers.
