Some guys don’t pledge what family wants

I’ve noticed a lot of guys pledging different frats than their brothers and dads. I know a large fraternity on campus has a brother that is very involved but word is the frat doesn’t like little brother that is a senior now. Is this normal? What would make a frat not want a family member?
