Sigma chi fall scorecard

by: Tyler

How is it that the largest fraternity, sigma chi, was allowed to have 74 pledges? They have over 230 members. Most if the others only gave out 30-50 bids. Is there not a cut off or a quota?

They have a lot of rich alumni with gooby sons who wouldn’t normally get a bid but do because of donations/Their dads. That goes along with the 60 good guys they normally take, but it waters things down overall when you don’t even know half your “brothers”

Why do they give out such a huge amount of bids? That’s a lot!

They had to give out massive amounts of bids this year because three years ago, on boys bid day, sigma chi almost killed about three pledges. Several more almost were hospitalized. Three had their stomach pumped. It was a c r a p show. They were on probation for a year. After that, sigma chi stopped being outwardly fun. Boys bid day is over. Sigma chi had to pay massive fines and settle with those guys. What they did would’ve shut down any other frat but not sigma chi. They have too much pull and connections. But they ruined rush for everyone. And honestly, their frat house just isn’t that much fun anymore. None of them know each other and the older guys are too worried about behavior at the house now. I’m sure this will be deleted but it’s the truth.

Was wondering why this house never seemed fun all year. Overhyped

Sigma Chi seriously almost killed three kids in their first day of being in the fraternity.

It doesn't matter how much money you have, how many members you have, or how big your house is... If you put three kids in the hospital you are not a good fraternity.

Sigma chi isn’t my fav frat but the narrative that they nearly killed three kids is simply untrue. As someone that was at the party, they had one kid who fell go to the hospital for stitches.

As someone else that was there, this is not completely true. There were boys that went tongue hospital. They were dehydrated due to excessive amounts of alcohol injested into their stomachs at a quick pace. They were given ivs.

Sigma chi went on probation for an entire year for what went down. Meetings were held, heads of departments were worried, and alumni took over day to day operations of sigma chi. Too many kids of prominent people were in trouble. This was in the fall of 2017 and lasted all school year until late 2018. So it’s recent and fresh on minds. Don’t try to brush this off because many remember it. Other frats were kicked off campus or put in debilitating probation for less offenses. Sigma chi got away with not losing its charter but it paid a price. They are taking kids they normally would not take and take huge numbers to pay for their misgivings. Facts!!!!!!! SAE is now where the party is.

Some people say sorority girls are catty and the “ mean “ girls. But if you were to pick which group of the fraternity guys that behaves most like a catty mean group of girls, it would be Sigma chi. They gossip, undercut, scheme, obsess, and lie to your face about things. That’s fine except they also do things like this to “show” how much money they donate. They didn’t raise this. Rich businesses donated theses funds and sigma chi stamped their name on it. It wasn’t earned by sigma chi. Go through comments and you can see how mean and condescending these guys are. Nasty group.
