new members

DG and Phi Mu have a list of new members on their Facebook pages including home towns. The others might add them to their chapter websites at some point. It's not typical for all MSU chapters to post new member lists. Some chapters are more strict on privacy issues.

Some chapters love to share the good news...others like to hide the bad.

I just figured chapters would want to brag about who they got. Guess not?

Chapters who are proud of who they got post the info. Those who are disappointed or got girls their alums don't like refuse to post it. Same story every year. They claim "privacy reasons" but these same girls are posting every trip to the bathroom on Instagram...so, that's not really valid. I mean, seriously? Do you really think that between Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Instagram, and other social media outlets they haven't already put it out there? Wrong. It's out there.

If groups are not posting lists, there's a reason...but "privacy" isn't it. I mean, groups are posting their members on their websites!! There's no diff.

In this day and age privacy is/can be a HUGE issue, why act ignorant to that fact just to make some groups look bad? Your logic does not add up. Groups may have various reasons for not posting the names of new members or chapter members. Have you ever thought that some groups have gotten top girls for so long that they don't feel the need to post names? I know that the house I was at on Bid Day has not yet posted the names of new members but believe me - we are VERY proud of them!! Whose business is it who pledged a certain sorority anyhow ... if you are dying to know then do a Facebook search because there is a huge chance that their profile/cover picture will reveal the information that you are so nosey to know.

You've just proved my point. It's already out there, so why not be proud of your new members and list them? duh. It's just a name & a sorority. It's not a National Secret.

That' s it. You just need a list of who went where and u would be ok? There are other ways to show you are proud of the ladies that pledge. If it is killing you maybe look to see what letters people wear to class or tag on their car or football gameday stickers that say blah blah luvs our dawgs to see who went where.or maybe ask the ladies in your chapter -don't think it is a secret at this point who went where. we have a great Greek system here at MSU - no matter the letters-

No secret who went where just because its not online by no means their group is disappointed. I dont know who would be..ton of great girls went through and everyone got 80+ girls.Why do you care so much on a list .. Move on...go tail gate or get a date if you can get one, I would be disappointed if you were my sister making a mountain out of a molehill. You aren't that good of friends with them if you don't know who went some where. Hahaha too funny.

As a new Greek girl, I feel that a list with my name on it, online or not or whereever, isnt going to make me feel that my house likes me more or less then the next house that doesnt/post a pledge list. Cant lower my self esteem that easily! ? I know where everyone went from my high school and others - nobody crying over their name not listed on their sorority site, love my house-best decision-dont need a list!!
