SO, now that 2013 recruitment is in the books, what do the final numbers look like?

How many total girls did each group get...and how many upperclassmen? Would love to know!!

I've only seen 2 pictures online. I counted the bodies and here is what I saw...could be off by a couple due to human error, but it would be close.
Pi Phi - 85
DG - 87

Every house made quota! I am so excited to see how the chapters grow with all these lovely new girls!

The real tale to be told here is how many of these are upperclassmen... Does anyone have the info on how many of these pledge class numbers were upperclassmen?

Posted their list on their open FB group, I counted 5 upperclassmen.

Chi O and Phi Mu took at least one upperclassman each, possibly more.

Good question!! I'd love to know the answer to that as well. It would be interesting to see if the dissolution of the upperclassman quota had the desired effect...and then it would be interesting to monitor the situation and see 2-3 years down the road...if the chapters all stay reasonably the same size. My guess is that those groups who took large numbers of upperclassmen will suffer in the longrun because they'll never be able to maintain chapter total from year to year...and will be constantly COBing. That's not good for any chapter.

I honestly think that the major reason some chapters are much smaller is due to the retention of underclassmen. Over the past few years it appears that some of the smaller groups have lost up to 50 of each pledge class by their junior year. Overall retention of members affects a chapter more than pledging more upperclassmen than other groups. You have to examine each chapters retention rate at all levels before blaming a smaller chapter size on the deletion of upperclassman quota.

But you don't know why girls don't return. Every year each house loses a few girls at least to transferring undergrad schools, going to nursing/dental hygiene, etc. Also if a girl is on internship/graduates early or gets married and goes inactive. I have seen most houses have around 30-50 girls left in their senior class. Don't look at a picture and assume they have bad retention.

What? It doesn't matter why the members left, any time a group loses a large amount of members they have a problem with retention.

Looks like from DG's list on their open fb group, they pledged 5 upperclassmen.
